Dinner

Dinner time was crazy tonight. But I guess I need to rewind to the afternoon first.

I put Alex in bed for his nap at 1pm, like always. He was still talking in his bed an hour later, like always. I expected him to go to sleep soon after that though. Then another hour past. And then another hour. He had been in bed for three hours just chatting away. I finally went in and said, "Alex, you didn't take a nap!" He said, "Oh!" Like I had broken the news to him. Edison had just gone down for a nap, so I brought Alex into my room and turned on the TV so I could finish writing my pen pal (Hi, Danielle!). I walked back in fifteen minutes later and Alex was asleep on my bed. Sound asleep.

He woke up right when I was starting dinner, at 5:30! And because he woke up in a strange place, really late in the day, he was cranky. Ridiculously cranky. Sam got home a few minutes later but Alex only wanted Mommy. So dinner got a little overcooked, but I still thought it was delicious.

Sam is going to be so angry, but next time I make it, I will leave out the cheese and serve a starch instead. The recipe was really easy. It took thirty minutes from the first picture to the second picture. And it made six servings so we each have lunch for the next two days. Woo hoo!

If you make the recipe, I replaced the dry white wine with chicken bouillon. It tasted great.
