Our adorable friends made some delicious snow ice cream and invited us out to play and have some, too! Alex was very interested in watching it being made, but he was too cold so he didn't want to eat any. That is very uncharacteristic of Alex because he has a serious case of sugar addiction.
We went inside and I put it in the freezer so he could enjoy it once he warmed up. And enjoy it he did! He loved it!
Snow Cream
8 cups snow
1 t. vanilla
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1. Put snow in a big bowl.
2. Pour sweetened condensed milk and vanilla over the top.
3. Stir.
4. Enjoy immediately.
Cool! That is brilliant. I loved eating snow as a child. I'm sure with a whole can of sweetened condensed milk it would taste even better!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Alex's hat is just plain awesome!
We are so glad you came out to play with us... and so glad Alex actually enjoyed the snow ice cream once he wasn't so cold!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I can't believe he's wearing the hat!!!!! That is SOOOO cool!!! YOu are seriously my new favorite friend of all time! I will make you ANYTHING you want :-)
ReplyDeleteyes, I know, our first few years were a little... rocky ;-) But I like to think of it as God trying to give us a gentle "nudge" in the right direction when we kept thinking we could go our own way.
A little ghetto is always nice. We are going to be about 8+ hours from you this summer so.... :-)
And yes, Alex and Oscar would be WORLD CLASS "scattering buddies"
ReplyDeleteI've learned if I give him 2 bowls, one empty, one with a LITTLE bit of something in it, he stays entertained for MINUTES putting them from one bowl to the other :-)
I had a roommate who would make snow cream. I remember it being amazing. You just have to make sure and pick really high quality snow... :)
ReplyDeleteThat's one ice cream I can't make now...:(
ReplyDeleteSo, really random comment, but I love his hat! It seriously rocks! Where did you get it? Is it just a kid's hat? I want one! haha
ReplyDeleteWOW. Never knew Snow could become part of a recipe...not sure how a I feel about it...but, guess I will try it some day.
ReplyDeleteJanet - my friend Naomi made the hat for Alex. I think she sells them. Comment on her blog (linked through The Paxton Family above) and ask!
