This month has gone by quickly. I know Edison is four weeks old and that's fine, but when I say he is one month old whoa! That's a whole 'nother story. We love this kid. Sam has been smitten by him since Day One and would hold him all day and all night if I would let him. Sam started calling him Little Nugget while we were still in the hospital. It has now been shortened to Nugget. He has become a new baby these last two days. He is so calm, barely spits up, and even lets us set him down! Woo hoo!
Cuddling with Daddy the day we got home from the hospital.
This is Daddy's favorite thing.
"Daddy is always stealing my candy!"
Big yawns.
His neck is getting so much stronger!
First bath at home.
Cuddling with Mommy after bath time.
He has slightly curly hair when it is wet. His hair is his best feature.
He constantly wants to be sucking on something. We gave him a pacifier at one week old.
He has already started reading blogs.
Meeting Sam's friend (Bob).
Due date countdown chain. If he had gotten to the end of that chain, I would have been very angry!
Long and skinny!
Holding hands.
So cuddly.
Crazy eyes!
He loves tummy time so much. He almost immediately falls asleep.
He has the weirdest toes on his left foot.
Ooh. So calm.
Getting some sun.
"I could try pushing up. Or I'll just stay comfortably here on the ground."
Errrr...
Doggy pile!
Gangster!
So many pictures!
He loves sleeping on our chests.
He spends a lot of time in the swing.
He pulls the hair on the back of his head so hard. One day while I was changing his diaper, he started screaming and I couldn't figure out why. Then I saw his skin on the back of his head was pulled out about an inch because he was tugging so hard on the hair.
He sleeps like an old Chinese man. (Stereotype much?)
Dance dance.
Mommy and the little boys!
He lost his umbilical cord stump at 19 days old.
He is so peaceful while he's sleeping.
Hey. How you doin'?
When he falls asleep, his head doesn't stay up very well. But he loves his carseat. He could sleep in it all day.
Hanging out with big brother.
Alex watching TV and petting Edison.
In the bath tub with all of his clothes on.
Here are a few more things Edison does for which I do not have a matching picture:
He...
...has a ton of hair on his ears. He has an abnormally high amount of body hair actually.
...cries so loud. It is not a newborn cry. I can't believe how loud it is. Sometimes I can't tell if it is Edison or Alex making noise.
...snores. Just like Daddy and Alex.
...has not had a single blowout yet. This results in him wearing the same clothes multiple days in a row.
...has some serious baby acne.
...sleeps really well at night. At least four hours between feedings. Usually more like six or seven. Then he goes right back to sleep. We have never made him wake up in the night to nurse.
...sneezes a ton. Sometimes ten times in a row!
...spit up through his nose twice! One of those times it shot on my face.
...has super greasy hair.
...gets called "Ed-duh" by Alex. He gets called Edison, Nugget, Alex, Devil, Sam, or Daddy by me. Sam only calls him Nugget.
...is immediately calmed by my singing.
...looks so bored while he's being burped.
...has a very cute quivery bottom lip.
...is often cross-eyed.
...has his eyes open so much more now. His eyes are starting to enter the blue stage.
...loves being held.
Oh my goodness Emily thank you SO much for this post! I love your growing family. :) Glad Edison is checking out Uncle Matthew & Aunt Laura's blog haha. I will have to post something extra interesting for him to look at...
ReplyDeleteLove you guys and your cute Nugget. :)
So cute! He seems so big and strong for only one month. So glad you guys are doing well!
ReplyDeleteHe's so dang precious!! All you pregnant people (now with newborns) are driving me nuts with baby-hunger!! I'm so glad you finally posted an overload of pictures and cute updates...he's absolutely adorable. Congrats again :)
ReplyDeleteThis might sound like a strange compliment, but I have to say that you look really cute when you're tired! I can tell you're tired in some of those pictures, but it just makes you more beautiful. How do you do it???
ReplyDeleteNugget...that's cute. I love all the pictures and we're really excited to come and meet him this weekend!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable! I love that doggy pile picture.
ReplyDeleteHe is dang cute. I think he looks like Alex.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't worry. Valette had monster baby acne too. But it went away. Sadly it happened a week AFTER Blessing day. Maybe Edison's will be nicer to you.
