Golden Birthday

Today is my golden birthday. Twenty-four years old on the 24th. I accept that I am now in my mid-twenties. But how important are numbers, really? Here are some numbers about my birthday.

12:17am - The time Sam wished me a happy birthday. We were folding laundry and midnight passed us by.
10:23am - The time I woke up this morning. Sam stayed home for a few hours so I could sleep in. It was crazy!
2 - Times I laughed maniacally because Sam said it had snowed overnight but I woke up so late that I didn't have to see it.
2 - Times Alex told me "You're looking really great!" while I was doing my hair. He also told me I looked handsome.
5 - Times I said, "Are you kidding me?" when we walked outside to go to the grocery store and I saw that the snow was still on the windshield.
1 - Stranger at the grocery store who wished me a happy birthday.
0 - Naps for Alex.

2 - Servings of pot roast I had for dinner.
1.5 - Bottles of sparkling cider we drank.
1 - Pomegranate that I made myself share.
2.7 - Pounds gained.

2 - Delicious pumpkin pies. That means leftovers!

24 - Candles. A whole box.
1 - Attempt to blow all of them out. Pshaw.
2 - Helpers blowing/spitting on the pie.
3 - Friends to enjoy the pie with us.

2 - Bouts of throw up I cleaned up after Sam finished spinning Edison around on the chair.

2 - Gifts Sam got me that we are returning.
3 - Gifts Sam got me that I am keeping.
4 - Times I told Sam that the Bishop had ruined my birthday after he called us to ask us to speak in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday. Ugh.

24 - Hours of awesomeness. I still have one left!

  6. Hahaha. Awesome blog. And happy belated birthday! I made a mental not to text you or say something about it when I did the birthday's for relief society 2 weeks ago - but I got all sorts of selfish on my vacation and totally forgot. Glad it was great :)
