Jacob and Brooke's Wedding

The day after I flew to Mesa, we woke up bright and early and started the drive to Vegas. My cousin Jacob was getting married! I was so tired so these first few days of my vacation are kind of a blur. We had to leave Mesa really early so we could make it to Vegas in time for Flannel to go to Brooke's endowment session at the temple.

While all of the adults were in the temple, I took the boys on a ridiculously long walk. It was also freezing cold. The poor boys were really tired and Edison fell asleep. Alex kept asking me to carry him but I couldn't carry both boys. It was so sad.

We dropped off the boys with a babysitter and then headed to the family dinner. I had never met Brooke before so it was fun to learn more about her. I also learned that Jacob is really awesome.

I got my haircut the next morning, fed the boys a pretend lunch of rolls, and then headed to the temple. It was the fastest sealing I have ever attended. It was the sealer's first time and we were in and out in ten minutes. The sealing was at 1pm so the boys missed naps again. Uncle Matthew kept them happy by rolling down the hill while we waited for the bride and groom to come out of the temple.

Jacob had just seen Brooke's dress for the first time a few moments before this picture.

We went back to the Trotter's to set up and hang out until the reception started. Everyone was tired and a massage line formed.

Uncle David did a great job of entertaining the boys so I could eat dinner.

Right after dinner, both boys started falling apart. Edison fell asleep and we put him in a crib in a back room. Alex followed me around zombie-like complaining about how cold and tired he was. It was a rough night.

I loved the bridesmaid's dresses. They were so cute and classy.

Laura played the harp during the first half of the reception.

Everyone wanted them to shove the cake in each others' faces but they had to be nice and feed it to each other cleanly. Boring!

Photobucket

I was appointed to cut the cake for serving. I had never done that before and I think it was kind of disastrous.

Photobucket

They had a photobooth and I made Alex pose with me. Everyone was taking pictures with their significant others and it made me miss Sam so much.

We are all pregnant at the same time! Denae (cousin) is due in March. Laura (sister-in-law) is due six days after me in April. Justine (cousin) is due in June.

The boys organized the decorating of the car. They decorated it the same as they did for Sam and me which makes ours significantly less special, but it looks pretty cool.

Photobucket

The bride and groom left under a tunnel of sparklers. It was Alex's favorite part of the night.

The next morning, we hung out in the hotel for five hours before leaving for church. Alex was pretending to sleep but I love his little smile.

Photobucket

After church, we drove back to Mesa. Sleep-deprived and grumpy. I am getting a little grumpy just thinking about this wedding weekend. It was a doozy. But I am so happy for Jacob and Brooke and I am glad I was able to see them commit to each other for eternity.

I cannot tell you how much you amaze me...HONESTLY, you possess wonder-woman skills to be a "single" parent while you wait for your hubby to come...
...also, I love your hair straightened.
...also, also, that picture of all you pregnant ladies is awesome.

Not that your hair doesn't look cute curly, because I absolutely love it curly and am exceedingly jealous of it...but...you look REALLY gorgeous with it straight too. Guess being gorgeous helps you look gorgeous ;)

You are right, I LOVE those bridesmaids dresses! I need to show it to my SIL for when she gets married! ;-)

Love the picture of Alex pretending to sleep! Makayla does that a lot too, so sweet!
And the ridiculously long walk... I totally get that. Both of my kids are too big to carry at the same time now too, and it breaks my heart! Just imagine when they will be too big to carry on their own! :-(

Also, I love the picture of all the preggos! Such a fun idea, wish my sisters and I would have done that when we were pregnant together! You look GREAT with your hair straightened! Maybe because it's just a novelty thing ;-)

and finally, how do you do the collages of pictures and resize them with photo bucket? I uploaded a bunch, but they were all just huge and BLAH. Yours are always so cute!

You sure look different with the straightened hair. So cute. (But I am not knocking the naturally curly hair, because I would love some of that.)

I really like the second picture with Alex kissing you in the photobooth. And the hat. The whole thing is cute.
