Those were the days...

I signed this a few years ago and put it on YouTube. It was removed due to copyright stuff and just recently returned (I don't really know why). I remember when I used to be better at ASL. Those were the days. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: The lack of facial expressions is because I was signing this for my brother. He wanted to see the timing/rhythm. At the time, I was unfamiliar with the song and had to read the words as I was signing.

  1. good job! that's amazing! i love asl, really. have you heard of baby signing time? it's a lady out of utah and her videos are the BEST i ALWAYS recommend teaching babies sign! SO USEFUL!
    But I digress...
the lady who does "baby signing time" has one daughter severly handicapped and the other is deaf. And she said something that I always think about, with asl. that deaf people only know what people tell them. other kids grow up and hear bits of conversation, see things on the tv, learn things by hearing it in grocery stores. Those who can't hear, must rely completely on people they are with to share what is going on around them. I think that is so tragic! i wish i knew sign language, but all i know are the things from the baby signing dvds i play for mak and oscar :-( outside, more, please... oh well, it's a start!

  2. I miss ASL.

...and unfortunately, my brain doesn't remember a lot of the signs...every now and then I'll find myself signing while I'm talking and my subconscious will sign the word that I coudln't remember...it's fun and weird at the same time...

They're very cute though and will correct me when a sign is wrong (wwhich happens way more than it should) I think I mihgt just have to take a class for ASL again. Thanks for posting this Emily you always were the best signer!

  5. I am going to have to take ASL again. This made me sad, I don't remember very many signs and I wish I did. But I love you!
