Beach Day on Coronado Island

We had a free day in San Diego before everyone started heading home. People had all sorts of different plans such as Sea World, USS Midway, and the Mormon Battalion Museum. I felt like it should be a lazy day, so we went to the beach.

The boys were freezing cold. They would not even think about going in the water. I was bundling in a towel and I was fully dressed so I don't blame them.

David and Adam immediately went to work building a giant fort. Kayla and I got to spend the whole time visiting and it was great. Neither of our husbands were able to make it to the wedding so she helped fill a lonely void for me.

A random Asian took a picture of my boys without asking. So I thought it was only fair to take a picture of her taking a picture without asking.

Alex seemed to be doing alright for the first 30 minutes. He would play and then run back over to cuddle because he was so cold.

Edison was very happy with his giant mess, until he realized he was a giant mess and couldn't get it off.

Edison's throne was finally finished so he was escorted over.

Everyone was so excited to see him sit on it. (I love this picture of my mom!)

But Edison hated it.

My dad buried David up to his neck.

Then Edison stomped around on him. (Natalie, Justine, and Riley were coming to join us!)

David tried to break out.

Alex ended up taking a nap in the stroller for almost two hours. He was so tired and cold.

On our way back to our car, we ran into the newlyweds. It was so funny to see them but I thought it might happen since we were on the beach not far from their hotel. I was just surprised they were outside!

That night, we all got back together for dinner and to say goodbye. It was such a large group that they understandably had to put us all at different tables, although we got to be in a small room all together. Unfortunately it was already after the boys' bedtime and they were so tired so I had to dine and dash. Both boys were asleep by the time we got home.

By this point, I was reaching the end of my being-a-single-parent reserve. I was so tired and ready to be back to normal life. The boys missed their Daddy and I was missing Sam, too. I also realized that I am horrible at going along with other peoples' plans. I wish everyone could have decided on one thing to do together during the day but everyone had different ideas and communication levels were not high so we went separate ways. It was a little ridiculous that we were all in the same city but not together. I guess we are all crazies.
