I have applied for April 2009 graduation! I am so proud of myself. This is only 1 1/2 semesters away! Then I can experience what everyone else is experiencing...
Personnel interviewer: Oh. I see you have a degree. We would really prefer if you had used your time getting experience in the "real world" instead of going to school.
Emily: [silent thought: I am pretty sure I am going to stab myself in the leg.] Well, since I am here, do you think you could let me work for free so I can at least get some experience?
Personnel interviewer: Sorry. We don't do that.
Emily: Do you know anyone who needs someone to mow their lawn?

That is so awesome Emily!! I am still a few years away from that. That is a great accomplishment! You should be proud.
Oh my gosh!!! I didn't even know you were graduating the same time as me???!!! What are the odds? You graduated high school 2 (?) years after me and are graduating college at the SAME time as me! Dang...i'm SLOW! oH WELL. I'm sure any company would be ecstatic to have you as an employee! WEEE>>>
Yay, it's so soon! :D
Ty is doing an internship, working for free...and he USED to mow our lawn!
hooray hooray hooray! Congrats! That is wonderful!
You're welcome to come mow our lawn anytime. But I'll need to see some references... :0) What kind of lawn mowing experience do you have?

Who in the world was that interviewer??? YIKES! Scary that a business would "prefer" you hadn't spent your time getting an education! RIDICULOUS. Although, I too am realizing how important getting real experience is....but I don't think its much without that diploma! Weird....:) Good luck!
Congratulations! Graduating is the BEST thing of all time. I have never enjoyed life more than I do right now. Working full time and having evenings to do whatever I please is incredible. You will love it.
