Our Fifth Home

It was hard to find an apartment that would do a short-term lease especially in such a short amount of time. We found a place that looked suitable and the premium for the short-term lease was not too bad. This is not the nicest apartment we've lived in but it definitely isn't the worst either. We were mostly excited about finally having a washer and dryer. Now that I have one, I have noticed that it seems like laundry never ends. Instead of just doing laundry for 3 hours on Tuesdays, I am doing laundry for an hour every other day. It is nice to always have clean clothes but (I cannot believe I am admitting this) I can see good things on both the side of having laundry facilities in-house and not having them.

The first time I used our washing machine and dishwasher, they both broke! They came and gave me brand new ones! I was so excited! I have a small crush on our washing machine because I think it is so cute. It senses how big a load is and starts itself. It makes me happy.

Cute place, looks like you guys have already made it home (although it appears you are never there :) We wont actually get to Ithaca until about the last week of July but we have to get there early because the MBA program has orientations and a bunch of other stuff he has to be there for before school actually starts. We'll see ya soon though!

Wow, what a cute place! I am only SLIGHTLY jealous of you having all your stuff with you when you move, it must be a hassle to pack and unpack EVERYTHING you own, but nice to have it all with you. Like when you are cooking or baking and you need something it's not forever in storage! :-)

oh and part of the doing laundry all the time has to do with alex getting older too! the older they are the more messy they are, i didn't believe it either, but it's true!

That washer looks niiiiiice. I totally understand those conflicting feelings. It's nice to have a washer, but yeah, then you're tied to laundry all week long...

Just caught up on your blog. Um, can I come to your next family reunion?!?! It looked great! And I am a little jealous you get to live with all your stuff. Don't get me wrong, I am glad we have a "furnished apartment" but I miss some of my kitchen gadgets and things. Oh, well.

The apartment looks awesome! You have no idea what i'd give for a washing machine. ours has a coin operated laundry place and everyone in louisville seems hostile about parting with their quarters hahaha
